Chef Charlene Ovard
This past weekend October 8, 2017 to be exact; I was very displeased with my best friends wedding cake and groomsmen cake. I would like to let you know that I have been a Pastry Chef since 2014 and have studied at a protege school. The cakes that she received were not only wrong because of her order being lost but completely wrong in what she asked for.
Cake two; wedding cake.
Because of your mess ups, I had to fix cakes and make my best friend day happy. I couldn’t be the maid of honor at that time and make her day memorable. You as a baker and human being should feel her pain in this. I will be writing the Better Business Bureau and Any other review I can think of for this cake. You dropped the ball ma’am, you need to fully REFUND the monies of these cakes. As I can tell you, no one who was at this wedding will ever use your services again.
I had to spend several hours attempting to fix both cakes as one was collapsing in on itself and the other was wrong coloring for the fondant. Upon my inspection of the cakes I noticed how they were put together, created and decorated. All of it was distasteful and a disgrace to the Pastry community.
The cake was crumbling, dry and utterly terrible. No Simple Syrup was used to make this cake. I have to stop cracks from happening, make my own frosting to match your disturbing attempt at butter cream. Plus had to replace the cake topper and add a border to that. Which was when I noticed the dowels sticking out of the cake itself. I made the water fall look like a Waterful and replaced the bottom figurine with buttercream as you glued it to the board, you were asked not to glue that to the board. Which was flimsy and I had to put 4 others boards with it to hold the cake. Which you didn’t paint like wood either. Had I not done this, her cake would have not been used. As she was literally crying on her wedding day, but not because of her happiness but because her cakes were wrong.
Friendly staff! The best eats! Freshest coffee and a great environment! I love this place!
Good presentation but almost all of their textures and flavors are off.
Thank you for nothing,
First and for most, the cake was dry; no simple syrup between layers and the fondat was the wrong coloring and had gaps, holes and two big sheets of fondant were separated from each other. The emblem on top was not only distasteful but somewhat wrong as well. It literally looked like the skull was throwing up. I had to paint black on the fondant to make the cake right so as the groom would not be in trouble for it with his community he had to ask to use it from.

As a chef I can tell you that using straws is not the correct way, dowels are used and cut to fit across the top layer of the cake so when you place the second layer on the cake with the cardboard under that cake it will not fall. You not only did the cake as a throw together but didn’t even crumb coat it to make sure the butter cream would be fine for the cake. Speaking of your butter cream it was crumbling and hard as a brick. How are the customers supposed to eat this?
Fair prices, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Good coffee and it always smells so great inside.
Cake one; groomsmen cake.
This is the cake that took me the most time to fix as it was just thrown together to get an order out as to not REFUND the monies since the original order was lost and you didn’t want to take blame.
I go there at least twice a week to try all the different things they make. I am never disappointed. It's a very clean, relaxing environment I always get the best service. And there's free WiFi.
Upon cutting the cakes I noticed even more horrified things. 3 dowels in the top layer, cardboard stuck to the cake between layers and straws, Yes STRAWS used to hold the cake in place so it would not move.
